Reflections and Observations of a Crazy Psychologist

This presentation pokes fun at some of the ideas and practices of special education, education, psychology and parenting. This presentation is light and humorous with an underlying message of hope, love, structure and some common sense for some of the crazy things we are doing in the helping profession.

Growing up is so hard to do, especially when teachers and parents...??

This presentation explores some of the modern day theories and practices that educators, psychologists and parents have tried to use to raise children. Unfortunately instead of helping, these practices have, made it more difficult for children to grow in healthy responsible ways. (Videotape examples shown.)

Teaching for Success, Not for Failure

If you ask any teacher, "Do you teach for success or do you teach for failure?", the odds are everyone would say they teach for success. If this is in fact true, why is there so much failure in our schools? This presentation will explore some teaching practices and philosophies that were designed with good intentions, but unfortunately have put large populations of children at risk for failure.
